PRESS: Russia to finish bridge across Amur in 2018 – minister
MOSCOW, Sep 14 (PRIME) -- Russia will finish construction of its part of a railroad bridge across the Amur River to China in mid-2018, daily Izvestiya reported Wednesday citing Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov.
China has already finished its part of the bridge.
The project should have been implemented in 2017, but the new term is 2018, Sokolov told the daily. The project was moved from the deadlock thanks to Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev’s rulings, the daily reported.
Necessary actions were also taken through the Russian Direct Investment Fund. “The contractor has launched works at the site today. The contract has been signed. We will accelerate the work to make up for the lost time in order to finish construction as soon as possible,” Izvestiya quoted Sokolov as saying.
